Scanjack 3500 on mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina
In Sweden as in many other countries there are several areas where unexploded grenades might be found in the ground mostly in military exercise fields, shooting grounds and test ranges of ammunition artillery and airdropped ordnance and consequently implicate risk. Based on the availability of skilled and certified management in Scanjack AB UXO – clearance has been one service given to customers in Sweden. As the demand on building grounds increases it has proven to be economic to clear grounds close to cities from existing UXO.
During 2010 Scanjack performed one project in two stages, one survey stage and one clearing stage. The work method included manually carried large loop magnetometer, hand held mine detectors and armored light back-hoe
loader. The project as such was the first UXO-clearance – project in Sweden performed in line with IMAS and by a civil commercial company.
